The Robert Beck Memorial Cinema Presents at the Andy Warhol Museum  A Tension Device

"... metaphysical anxiety descends upon the picture through the folds in the curtain."

- Andre Breton, Mad Love
.

Peeling the silver from the back of a mirror, we discover a portait in glass of our memory-cinema. In other words, we reveal its truth as that of the wonder-block; that is, found in the traces of what was once reflected. Cultural ephemera, oneiric eroticism, subterranean science, phantoms sadistic and seductive, perfumed performances and the dark face of obsession flash on the shadowed surface of this glass.

After a haunted interlude, we unveil the omnibus project - I, of K (Imitation, of Kiss), a contemporary incarnation of Andy Warhol's Kiss, directed recently by a dozen NYC-based filmmakers, in collaboration with Ocularis.

The program includes glass slides, multiple projections and found films. The artists represented include Kerry Laitala, Bradley Eros, Jeanne Liotta, Zoe Beloff, Lee Ellickson, Brian Frye, Stuart Sherman, Eugene Castle, Luis Recoder, Aaron Scott, Henry Hills and anonymous.

rbmc is a laboratory for the auto-didact, a model Temporary Autonomous Zone for cine-mavericks and -metaphysicians, a self-described "pinprick in the condom of culture." We show films at night.
